Language

The official language of the School is English.

Location

The School will take place in the Hotel Istra on Crveni otok (Red Island) near Rovinj, a beautiful old city at the western coast of the Istria peninsula, 50 km south of Trieste. The second part of September is late summer so the air and seawater temperatures should exceed 22°C.

The registration fee covers the cost of the School, all social events, accommodation in double rooms and meals.

Fellowships

(April 15^th)

The Organizers may provide financial support to several young qualified scientists to cover partly accommodation expenses and the registration fee. Candidates should state their relevant scientific qualifications by sending the application form (in the web site) accompanied by a CV and a letter(s) of recommendation until April 15^th.

Registration

(May 15^th)

Additional Registration Forms can be obtained on request. The number of participants will be limited to about 80. All participants are requested to check in at the Hotel Istria on September 16, 2006. Those who arrive earlier or stay longer should make a reservation for the extra days at their own cost. All applications should reach the Organizing Committee not later than May 15, 2006 either electronically or if you prefer you can send it by post. The applicants will be notified by June 1. 

Call for Posters

(June 1^st)

Interested participants are invited to submit abstracts describing their work. Abstracts should arrive no later than June 1, 2009. Authors will be informed about the provisional acceptance of the abstract by June 30. The presentation of the abstract as a poster will be confirmed, and included in the Book of Abstracts when one of authors registers for the conference. Contributors of outstanding abstracts will be chosen by the Scientific Committee to give a 10-minute oral presentation.

Poster Size

The poster boards will be 100 cm (width) and 100 cm (height). Materials for poster mounting will be provided.

Awards

A prize will be awarded for the best contribution in terms of innovative results and presentations.

Social Programme

There will be several informal social events: informal get-together party, walking tour of Rovinj,  a  full-day excursion by boat, bus or on foot, concert, tradtional dinner. Entertainment will be provided by willing performers from among the participants (your talent is awaited).

Passport, visas

All foreign participants must possess their valid passports to enter Croatia. Very few nationalities must have a visa. Participants from countries with visa requirement should apply to the Croatian consulate or diplomatic missions in their countries prior to their departure.
