Project summary

The main part of the project is experimental study of different clustering phenomena in light atomic nuclei, from few-nucleon clusters to complex nuclear molecules, as well as of reactions between these nuclei. The most suitable reactions are used for these purposes, induced by stable or radioactive nuclear beams from available accelerators, mainly in Europe. Reaction products are detected in complex detector systems, which are enabling collection of high quality data on different reaction channels. The research is performed in cooperation with groups from abroad, especially with those from Italy, Germany and United Kingdom.

A part of this project is the construction of a small-size transportable detector system consisting of four counter telescopes with position sensitive detectors, together with accompanied electronics and data acquisition system.

We also continue to participate in measuring the data on reactions between light nuclei which are of interest for astrophysics, especially by use of the "Trojan horse" method.

There will be examined the suitability (from nuclear viewpoint) of different boron containing superconductors for the study of the enhancement of flux pinning due to ion tracks produced by the n+10B -> 4He+7Li reaction.
