Current research involves investigation of trace constituents of air, their properties, transformation and transport over different continental and coastal regions of Croatia. Structural, kinetic and thermodynamic properties are investigated for compounds that enter the atmosphere and contribute in air‑soil and air‑water exchange. Formation, destruction and transport of ozone and other photooxidants are analyzed at different locations in Croatia too. The numerical and statistical methods, some locally developed, are applied to analyze and interpret ozone data in relation to meteorological data and to high altitude or remote transports. Ab initio quantum-chemical methods are used to resolve the reaction mechanisms and to calculate the rate constants and kinetic parameters of important atmospheric oxidation processes, i.e. reactions of ozone and hydroxyl radical with several classes of major atmospheric pollutants.
