Up (Activities of DPC)

Current projects are focused on: (i) the relation between surfactant molecular structure, selforganization in aqueous solutions and amphotropic behavior and (ii) processes at inorganic/organic interface which control nucleation and growth of biomineral crystals. The relationship between molecular structure and supramolecular selforganization are studied on a novel generation of surfactants, the dissymmetric gemini surfactants. Possibilities to control the structure of micelles by varying the length of hydrocarbon chains and the length of spacer are investigated. Amphotropic properties of catanionic surfactants are also studied, since such surfactants exhibit complex thermal behavior.
