Short description of the activity

• we investigate the ethiology and pathology of experimental diabetes mellitus in vivo and in vitro

• the mechanism of neuropathy, as a late complication, and the posibility of stoped this process by the new-synthesised substance, present our special interest

• in type I of diabetes mellitus we examine the viral ethiology in destruction of  beta cells

Projects

• the aim of the project, financially suported by Croatian  Ministry of Science and Technology, is to proliferate pluripotent embrional stem cells in vitro, and to diferentiate them in functional structure     

Other activities

• collaboration with Clinical Hospital  "Vuk Vrhovac", Zagreb, Clinics for gynecology and obstetrics Petrova, Zagreb, as well as with Faculty of Pharmacology and Biochemistry in Zagreb and Ljubljana

• collaborative projects with colleagues from School of Pharmacology and biochemistry, as well as with the Clinic for Diabetes "Vuk Vrhovac" in Zagreb

• collaborative projects with the pharmaceutical industry
