Division of Materials Chemistry

The Division of Materials Chemistry is a Center of Excellence in materials science. The scientific team of this Division makes a significant effort to contribute to the overall economic development of Croatia through its knowledge. Its main research activities are funded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. There are also numerous activities in cooperation with various industries, hospitals, state institutions and faculties.

LIBM is pursuing fundamental and applied research in the fields of ichthyology, namely physiology of aquatic organisms, tissue biochemistry, patho/histology, phylogenetics, cytogenetic changes, application and impact of antibiotics, assessments and creation of rapid tests for bacterial pathogens.

Institute Rudjer Boskovic expert team offers innovative service and expertise in controlled preparation of participated calcium carbonate with specific physical-chemical characteristics with semi continuous or batch process. Preparation process is done within multifunctional computer-controlled bench scale chemical reactor developed by scientists. Expert team also offers their services in developing products for basic chemical and pharmaceutical industry that are prepared through processes of crystallisation or participation.
