    1.)   Investigation of production methods and physical properties of semiconductor quantum dots

    - Preparation of quantum dots:

  • Preparation of regularly ordered quantum dots in amorphous matrices by self-assembling growth type.

  • Preparation of regularly ordered quantum dots by ion beam irradiation.

  • Influence of spatial arrangement of quantum dots on electrical and optical properties of QD-based materials.

  • Influence of preparation methods on crystalline quality of quantum dots.

  • -Characterization methods:

  • Grazing incidence small angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS)

  • Transmission electron microscopy

  • Raman spectroscopy

  • X-ray diffraction

  • Ultra-violet, visible and infrared spectroscopy.

  • Monte-Carlo simulations of the self-assembling growth of quantum dots in   amorphous matrices.

  • Monte-Carlo simulations of the formation of regularly ordered quantum dots by ion beam irradiation.

  • Development of methods for description of XRD spectra from nanocrystals contacting plane defects
