Scientific research of the Laboratory is focused on the three key research directions:

• exploring the contribution of pollution of the environment with antibiotics and resistant bacteria on the development and spread of antibiotic resistance
• estimating the impact of pollutants on microbial communities in the enviroment
• characterization of microbial communities as potential catalysts for biodegradation of organic pollutants – determining of catabolic and genetic potential for degradation
