Laboratory for nuclear physics

The main area of research for this group includes the structure of the nucleus, mechanisms of nuclear reactions, properties of extremely hot and compressed nuclei, and influence of nuclear medium on the properties of elementary particles. The scientists work in international collaborations on experiments at accelerator complexes in the EURONS network of large accelerator facilities, including complexes with radioactive and stable beams, as well as on numerous other complexes around the world as well as on the RBI accelerator facility. Group memebers are part of the CBM collaboration at FAIR, Damstadt, the largest international project in nuclear physics. The group also is in charge of the Cockcroft-Walton neutron generator at RBI.
