Radovan Brako`s work published in Physical Review Letters

The paper Dirac cones and minigaps for graphene on Ir(111) was published in the latest edition of one of the most prestigious and widely read journals in Physics - Physical Review Letters.

In this work, the experimental groups from the Institute of Physics in Zagreb and University of Cologne investigated for the first time properties of periodically modulated graphene layer, and it was dr Radovan Brako, Senior Scientist in Solid State Physics Group, Theoretical Physics Division, who provided a comprehensive theoretical interpretation of the research results. The topic of this work is very interesting since graphene, a honeycomb lattice of carbon atoms, is a promising candidate for further fundamental research and a candidate for potential applications of graphene in nanotechnologies.
