Third Patent granted to RBI Scientists

Jun 15th 2009

Mario Stipčević, PhD has recently been granted a patent for Quantum Random Number Generator (QRBG) by the State Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Croatia. The QRBG patent is a result of many years of extensive scientific research and it is the third patent granted to RBI scientists so far.

Quantum random number generator is a device that produces binary random bits which are virtually free of bias and correlations at the rate of 12 million bits per second. Because of their non-deterministic nature and near-to-maximal entropy, quantum random number generators are ideally suited for most critical applications such as cryptography, production of PIN and TAN numbers, simulations in industry or science, statistics research etc.
