The Strategy and Action Plan for Biological and Landscape Diversity of the Republic of Croatia includes the protection of endangered species. Among the more significant autochthonous species of karst rivers is brown trout for which there is no complete genetic profiling. Therefore, the aim of the project is to create the preconditions for preserving and establishing balance in the environment by developing a model for the restoration of indigenous karst river species through the implementation of novel scientific insights and methods.
