Postdoctoral researcher studying coastal flooding, bathymetry and climate change. Honorary associate at Liverpool and Bangor Universities (UK), where he spent period 2020-2025. At Liverpool, he was building high resolution bathymetries of English estuaries as a part of the INVEST project (Environment Agency). He completed his PhD at Bangor University in modelling estuarine flooding by testing the effects of different morphological features on flood risk. Skilled in GIS with a focus on digital terrain modelling and satellite image analysis. Basic skills in Photogrammetry (aero and terrestrial), UAV operations, 3D scanning and rendering software. Previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Geospatial Technologies, University of Zadar, Croatia. Received Rector's Award at the University of Zadar for outstanding academic results.

FLOODSCAPE: High-Resolution Modelling of Future Coastal Floods Under Changing Landscape (HrZZ project)

About project:

Advanced hydrodynamic modelling using Delft-3Dwill be applied to simulate a range of flooding scenarios for present-day conditions and future projections. The modelling will include potential flood mitigation scenarios, e.g. land use and seascape changes, to reduce flood risks. The main areas of research will be Central Dalmatia for regional modelling and flood hot-spots analysis, and micro-location for ultra-fine scale modelling. The purpose of the project is to address the following questions: (1) How will future flood scenarios affect the spatial distribution of inundation zones and how will they affect Dalmatian coastal communities? and (2) What is the role of changing landscape scenarios on the risk of flooding?
