The distinguished scientists of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, through their scholarly achievements and reputation, have made a lasting contribution not only to their own Institute but also to the broader Croatian scientific and academic community.

The honorary scientific title of Distinguished Scientist of the Ruđer Bošković Institute is awarded by the IRB Governing Board, in accordance with strict internationally defined criteria, to senior scientists of international renown.

Through their work and successful scientific activities across numerous areas of scholarly endeavor—ranging from participation in education, leadership of international research projects, patenting, authorship or co-authorship of university textbooks, books, and monographs, editorship of internationally recognized volumes, prominent roles and memberships in international associations, lectures and organizing within international scientific conferences, to holding important functions in scientific bodies—these individuals have rendered outstanding service not only to the Ruđer Bošković Institute but also to the broader Croatian scientific and academic community.

Recognizing and rewarding Distinguished Scientists is part of our efforts to position Croatian science on the world stage and a symbol of support for the high level of our scientific work and excellence.
