The ICT Technology Transfer Days: For a Greener and More Digital Danube Region 2026

The ICT Technology Transfer Days: For a Greener and More Digital Danube Region 2026 took place in Prague on 22 January 2026. The event was organized by the Faculty of Information Technology, CTU in Prague, the lead partner of the Interreg Danube Region project CapTTict, in which Mreža znanja d.o.o. and the Ruđer Bošković Institute participate as Croatian partners.

The event provided a dynamic and inspiring platform demonstrating the strong synergies between science, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and highlighted the role of technology transfer in supporting sustainable and digital transformation across the Danube region.

Three Croatian teams participated in the final Best Start-Up competition, selected among 30 teams that successfully completed the CapTTict Danube Digital Accelerator (https://www.ddaccelerator.com/):

  • Dionizije Fa and Mateo Čupić, presenting OmicsAgent, a science-based digital solution with clear potential for translational impact;
  • Bruno Laznica and Luka Makovšek, founders of MyFitTool, an AI-powered fitness application grounded in sports science and designed for scalable digital health markets;
  • Dr. Milovan Vojvodić, family physician and team leader of Inomed, a digital health system enabling more transparent and responsible use of health data across the healthcare ecosystem.

The Croatian start-ups demonstrated notable progress in both business plan maturity and product development:

Mateo Čupić and Dionizije Fa, the two former PhD students of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, achieved notable success in the final start-up competition with their product OmicsAgent, receiving the two awards among 30 participating start-ups:

  • 1st Place – Investor’s Choice Award (across all categories)
  • 2nd Place – Intelligent Digital Technology category (Public Choice)

This result highlights the strong potential of science-driven solutions developed within the CapTTict ecosystem and demonstrates the successful transfer of research excellence into market-oriented innovation.

The event atmosphere was highly engaging and collaborative, reflecting the strength of the CapTTict network and the commitment of its partners to supporting science-based start-ups and strengthen innovation capacity and technology transfer across the Danube region.
