The Workshop on Optical Thin Films that will be held at the Ruđer Bošković Institute on 22-24 April 2024 will present an overview on current research trends in optical properties and optical applications of thin films. Recognized researchers will give a set of mini-courses and keynote lectures on a variety of topics of current interest including theoretical aspects, fabrication and characterization techniques and application of optical thin films, in particular:

• fundamentals of thin film optics
• deposition techniques
• characterization methods
• optoelectronics
• nano and micro-structuring
• photocatalysis in thin films
• heterostructures
• thin film optical devices

The Workshop is primarily addressed to PhD students and post-doctoral researchers, but it is open to the general scientific community. Registered participants are encouraged to present their research in "flash" contributed presentations to foster discussion in this area.

The Workshop is organized in the framework of the project Metal composites for ultra-thin infrared coatings of the Croatian Science Foundation and the results will be presented in a special session by the project collaborators Nirmala D'Souza, Elizabeth Hedl and Matej Bubaš.
