MicroGnost [PK.1.1.12.0341]
Principal investigator
The MicroGnost project (PK.1.1.12.0341) focuses on developing innovative and safer histopathological reagents for tissue fixation, decalcification, and processing in combination with microwave technology. Particular emphasis is placed on preserving nucleic acids and protein biomarkers and ensuring compatibility with modern molecular diagnostic methods, including NGS, FISH, IHC, and RT-PCR. The project is jointly implemented by BioGnost Ltd. and the Laboratory for Metabolism and Ageing at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, combining expertise in IVD product development, histopathology, and molecular medicine. The aim is to develop safer histopathological procedures that enable high-quality morphological and molecular analysis of processed tissues.
