Investigations of the potential medicine for Alzheimer’s disease are of the great priority. According to the predictions of the Health Connections 100 million Euros will be invested in programs of support and development of solution and cure for Alzheimer’s disease. This justifies, on the best was, investigations on flavonoid carriers for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, as it is proposed by this project of bilateral collaboration.

The project is the unique opportunity for young researchers in both teams to exchange knowledge, skills and for their further improvement. For researchers with more experience, this will be opportunity to find more efficient approaches for Alzheimer’s disease treatment and to spread the network with research groups from other European institutions for potential common participation in HORIZON 2020.

The experience of Croatian partner in nanoparticle charaterization and experience of Serbian partner in design of carriers are compatible. Skills and equipments of Croatian partner (extraordinary experience with surface active substances important to bridge barrier between polar and non-polar systems, important for delivery of the carriers into body; experience in characterization on AFM, DLS, FTIR and HPLC) and Serbian partner (experience in predictable design of long-term drug release carriers on base of ceramics and/or polymers, in modeling the release kinetics of drugs from such carriers and organization of biological experiments, material characterization by FTIR, AFM, SEM and UV-Vis spectroscopy) are essential for successful program realization.
