Laser scanning confocal microscope Leica TCS SP2 AOBS

Contacts

The Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope is a light microscope that serves for observation and recording of living and fixed microscopic samples by fluorescence and in reflected light. In this technique, the sample is illuminated point by point, and the emitted or reflected light is detected and forms an image in the memory of the digital computer. The main advantage of confocal microscopy, compared to classical light microscopy, is the possibility of optical sectioning, i.e., obtaining a sharp image of a thin layer when imaging a thick specimen. Areas of application are as diverse as for classical light microscopy. Our microscope has an inverse configuration.
