Raman spectrometer T64000 made by HORIBA Jobin Yvon company (2006.) is an instrument dedicated for standard LASER Raman and MICRO-Raman spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy is a method by which one studies vibrational properties of matter in gaseous, liquid or condensed state. It complements infrared spectroscopy. Due to its extraordinary sensitivity one can register molecular composition of a single microliter of sample. Therefore a microscope is inseparable component of modern Raman spectrometers, enabling one to follow dynamics/composition relationship in sample along different spatial directions.

Characteristics

Model
Jobin Yvon T64000
Manufacturer
HORIBA Jobin Yvon model
Operating and measuring scope
Vibrational spectra 8-7000 cm-1. Spectral interval 400-1100 nm.
Principle of work
A small volume of sample is needed to be placed in laser beam. Scattered light from the sample is collected by focusing optics and analyzed by spectrometer when recorded on CCD.
Detailed technical characteristics
T64000 Raman spectrometer is a triple monochromator, having a double premonochromator and a spectrometer. It can operate in single mode or triple mode, using one or three gratings, each one having 1800 grooves/mm and offering excellent stray-light rejection. This enables one to record spectra from 8 cm-1. Accompanying equipment are low temperature cryostat and high temperature cell Linkam THMS600.
Additional equipment
Janis Research closed cycle He cryostate operating 8-300 K, Linkam THMS600 variable temperature cell for micro Raman.
