Detailed technical characteristics
The simultaneous TGA-DSC analyzer is an advanced, integrated analytical system intended for high-precision testing of thermal properties of materials by simultaneously performing TGA and DSC on one sample under identical experimental conditions. The system consists of a microscale connected to the furnace, which enables precise control of the temperature and composition of the atmosphere in a wide temperature range. During one measurement cycle, the device measures changes in sample mass and thermal changes associated with phase transitions (melting, crystallization, glass transition) in parallel and in real time. This simultaneous approach minimizes the influence of sample inhomogeneity and experimental errors, shortens the analysis time, and enables a comprehensive characterization of the thermal stability, composition and phase behavior of the material.
When a simultaneous TGA-DSC analyzer is coupled with a QMS quadrupole mass spectrometer, this device represents an advanced, hybrid analytical system that integrates thermal analysis with real-time identification of gaseous products. The system operates in such a way that volatile components and gases, which are released from the sample during thermogravimetric and calorimetric analysis, are continuously transferred through a heated capillary (transfer line) to the QMS module, where they are ionized and filtered through a high-frequency quadrupole field based on their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z), which enables the identification of gaseous products.
In the version where the TGA-DSC-QMS is coupled with a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer (TGA-DSC-QMS-FTIR), this device represents a triple-coupled analytical system that enables the characterization of materials through simultaneous monitoring of physical changes in the material and double, complementary chemical identification of evolved gases in real time, and as such represents a comprehensive analytical platform for advanced studies of various materials.
