Time resolved fluorescence (TRF) fluorimeter Edinburgh Inst. FS5

The instrument for stationary and time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) can record the fluorescence spectra of common solutions and solid samples, but the special feature of this instrument is the possibility of time-resolved fluorescence measurements of time-resolved fluorescence solutions with a resolution below 1 ns, which allows accurate and precise characterization of any fluorescent solution.

Detailed technical characteristics
Light Source - 150 W xenon lamp Optical System - All reflective - Czerny Turner Monochromators (both excitation and emission) must have over 220mm focal length, and have grating turrets accepting up to 2 gratings. - Bandpass from 0* to 30 nm, continuously adjustable via software (*resolution limit of 0.3 nm) - Wavelength accuracy ±0.5 nm - Scan speed 100 nm/s - Sensitivity > 6000:1 (SQRT Method) Excitation Monochromator - Mechanical wavelength coverage: 200 nm-1000 nm - 1200 g/mm grating optimised for 300 nm Filter wheels Fully automatic filter wheels both in excitation and emission path to remove unwanted second and third-order grating effects. Detectors Reference Detector - Calibrated silicon reference detector Transmission Detector - Detector for transmission/absorption measurements must be included to make absorption measurement Emission Monochromator - Mechanical wavelength coverage: 200 nm-1000 nm - 1200 g/mm grating optimised for 500 nm - Automatic filter wheel for second order removal Emission Detector - Time-correlated Single photon counting (TCSPC) photomultiplier in temperature stabilised housing - TCSPC capability, including an electronic card with at least 305 fs/channel bin width, <25 ps electronic jitter and reverse mode automation. - Spectral range: 250 nm -850 nm or broader range Data Acquisition Electronics - Three parallel counter modules for fluorescence, reference and transmission detector. This allows simultaneous correction of excitation intensity. Guaranteed SQRT or FSD Signal to Noise Ratio of at least 6,000:1 for the water Raman signal (excitation at 350 nm, emission at 397 nm, with a 1 second integration time and 5 nm spectral bandwidth). Background signal defined as amplitude at 450nm, without background subtraction and without averaging. Software: for fluorescence software Set of lasers/diodes 340, 405, 450, 560 nm
