Zeiss LSM 800 with Airyscan super-resolution confocal laser scanning system
Contacts
LSM 800 Airyscan is a confocal laser scanning microscope with two highly sensitive GaAsP detectors for fast linear scanning, complete with a super-resolution detection concept Airyscan, that allows for 1.7× higher resolution in all three dimensions, resulting in a 5× smaller confocal volume.

Detailed technical characteristics
• Illumination system: The diode laser module has four laser lines: 405 nm, 5 mW; 488 nm, 10 mW; 561 nm, 10 mW; 640 nm, 5 mW. It is possible to directly modulate its power (500:1). One major beam splitter is used for all laser lines at 10 degree with excellent laser line suppression. The 640 nm laser line can be used for internal autofocusing.
• Detection system: Consists of two GaAsP spectral detection channels (spectral quantum efficiency ≥ 45%), and one additional Airyscan GaAsP detector with spatial detection adapted for 40× or 63× objectives. Spectral detection can be conducted in more then 8 sequential confocal fluorescence channels.
• Scanning module: Comprises two independent, galvanometric scanning mirrors with ultrashort line and frame flyback, that can achieve a scanning speed of up to 8 images/sec (Airyscan up to 1.6 images/sec) with 512 × 512 pixels. Scanning resolution is highly and continuously adjustable for each axis and for multiple channels, ranging from 4 × 1 up to 6,000 × 6,000 pixels (Airyscan max. 4,000 × 4,000 pixels). The master pinhole has a preset size and position, and can be adjusted as desired.
