The BLUECARB-HR project is focused on assessing the amount of organic carbon stored in the sediments of Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. Seagrasses are recognized as some of the most efficient natural carbon sinks in coastal ecosystems; however, data on sedimentary organic carbon stocks in Croatia are currently lacking.
