My career has focused on bridging the gap between research and society, drawing on experience in academic research, science broadcasting, science policy and strategic science communication. With a background in chemistry, I spent ten years as a researcher at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, investigating the molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease and biomarkers of neurodegenerative disorders. During this period, I worked in research laboratories in Munich, Münster and Bonn and participated in international collaborative research projects.

Alongside my research career, I developed a strong interest in science communication and public engagement. I won both the Croatian and International FameLab competitions and spent ten years as editor and host of The Third Element, Croatia's leading popular science television programme. This experience strengthened my expertise in communicating complex scientific topics to diverse audiences, working with the media and supporting researchers in sharing their work beyond academia.

In 2018, I joined the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education as Chief Advisor, contributing to the development of national research and higher education policies and collaborating with national and European stakeholders. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped develop and implement School on TV, the national television-based education programme launched to ensure continuity of primary education during school closures.

After returning to the Ruđer Bošković Institute, I took responsibility for the Institute's science communication activities and now coordinate strategic initiatives that enhance the visibility, societal relevance and impact of its research. My work focuses on embedding science communication and public engagement within the research ecosystem by supporting researchers, building institutional capacity and fostering collaboration with policymakers, educators, the media and the wider public. I contribute to national and European initiatives in science communication, open science, research culture and researcher career development, design professional training programmes for researchers, and regularly deliver lectures and interactive workshops for schools, universities, scientific conferences and public audiences.

I represent the Ruđer Bošković Institute within the EU-LIFE alliance as a co-chair of its Science Communication Working Group, contributing to joint European initiatives, institutional capacity building and the exchange of best practices among Europe's leading life science research institutes.
