The project brings together experts from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro with the goal of improving the monitoring system for stagnant inland water quality using artificial intelligence, satellite observations, and advanced geospatial sensors. Research is being conducted in Vransko Lake (HR), Deransko Lake (BiH), and Skadar Lake (CG), with a focus on developing a harmonized methodology for ecosystem monitoring.

The kick-off conference of the ROBONETCBC project (Developing innovation network for uptake of solutions in robotics and sensors to improve monitoring and prevention of pollution of freshwater and sea ecosystems) was held on 8 November 2024 in Šibenik, organized by the Šibenik-Knin County, one of the project partners.

The SMART-Water project has officially launched, aiming to improve water quality monitoring in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro through the application of cutting-edge data collection technologies, while also raising public awareness about the importance of water conservation as one of the most vital natural resources.
