IRI S3 develops two digital personalised-medicine products: a drug-selection tool based on a person's pharmacogenetic profile and a nutrigenetic analysis tool. The Laboratory for Advanced Genomics builds the genomic databases and analysis methods on which both products rest.

How a person responds to a drug, and what they need nutritionally, is partly determined by genetic variants. The project links research with product development so that this information is translated automatically from genome data into clear recommendations for users and health professionals. The industrial-research phase builds pharmacogenetic and nutrigenetic databases and prototypes; the experimental-development phase brings the products to market readiness.

Objectives

  • pharmacogenetic and nutrigenetic databases
  • automated genome-analysis methods
  • development and validation of the "PGx Drug Selector" and "Nutrigenetic Analyzer"
  • feasibility study and commercialisation plan

Expected results

Two products at technology readiness level TRL 8, ready to be offered as a service (SaaS), and new research positions.
