STORE-1PLUSMG – Scaling Secure Storage and Processing for 1+MG
RBI principal investigator
As genome sequencing scales up across Europe, countries face a shortage of secure storage and processing capacity. STORE-1PLUSMG aligns national plans and procurements to a common standard so that genomic data have a secure, durable and legally compliant home.
Earlier 1+MG projects put in place the rules and infrastructure for cross-border genomic data access. STORE-1PLUSMG builds on them: it agrees a shared storage strategy, coordinates national procurements to a common standard, ensures compliance with the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and connection to Secure Processing Environments, and secures long-term sustainability. The project is directly linked to the establishment of the Genome EDIC (European Digital Infrastructure Consortium).
RBI's role
The Laboratory for Advanced Genomics contributes to WP2 (Strategy, Validation and 1+MG alignment): consolidating national storage plans, performing gap analyses and supporting the establishment of Croatia's Genome EDIC node, together with the Croatian Institute of Public Health.
