BICRO INFO DAY held today at the Ruđer Bošković Institute was a perfect opportunity for the RBI scientist to learn more about the Business Innovation Centre of Croatia – BICRO and get closer insight into government support programs aimed at strengthening cooperation between science and industry. This event was organized under the auspices of the RBI Director General Ms. Danica Ramljak, DVM, PhD.

Through presentations delivered by Ivana Nagy, PhD, TEHCRO program Manager, Ivo Friganović, PhD, RAZUM program Manager and Ante Mamić, BSc. Econ., ICRO program Manager, the RBI scientist gained latest information on BICRO programs and initiatives. These programs fund innovative technology projects with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of Croatian small and medium size enterprises and creating other conditions which are necessary for the successful flow of knowledge between the scientific community and the business sector. After extremely useful introductory presentations the participants had the opportunity to discuss the perceived "disconnection" between science and industry, the role of government in addressing these issues, as well as to share their experiences and examples of positive practice.

Organization of such events is in line with the strategic priorities of the Director and RBI team to strengthen cooperation between the Ruđer Bošković Institute and Croatian companies with the aim of strengthening technology development as the main generator of sustainable economic growth.
