Eighth lecture in the The Embassy Series Sponsored by the Ruđer Bošković Institute

We invite you to join us for a lecture by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Croatia, His Excellency Park Seong Ung entitled „Dynamic History of Korean Science and Technology“ to be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at 16:00 in the auditorium of Wing III, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Bijenička 54.

The lecture will focus on the unprecedented conversion which South Korea has undergone in the last 40 years when it oriented itself toward investment in high technology industries, such as the manufacturing of new materials, mechanics, industrial robotics, bioengineering and microelectronics.

Korea's economic success is attributed to its strong emphasis on the investemnt of Research and Development system. The lecture will examine the structure, history and future directions of Korean R&D system, which has been a driving force of the remarkable economic growth of the Republic of Korea.
