National Science Awards presented to RBI scientists

RBI scientists Zvonimir Maksic, PhD, Ante Graovac, PhD, Nela Pivac, PhD, and Ivica Kopriva, PhD, were honoured with the 2008 National Science Award by the National Science Awards Committee at the Croatian Parliament meeting, held on 1 July 2009.

A total of 30 awards in four categories were granted to Croatian scientists. RBI scientists were awarded in two categories. Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Prof. Zvonimir Maksic, PhD, for his outstanding scientific contribution in the field of natural sciences, while Annual Science Award was granted to: Prof. Ante Graovac, PhD, senior research scientist at the NMR Centre, for a significant scientific achievement in the field of natural sciences; Nela Pivac, PhD, senior research scientist at the Division of Molecular Medicine, for a significant scientific achievement in the field of biomedical sciences, and Ivica Kopriva, senior research scientist at the Division of Laser and Atomic Research and Development, for a significant scientific achievement in the field of technical sciences.

National Science Awards of the Republic of Croatia are granted to scientists, researchers and junior researchers in recognition of their exceptional achievements in scientific research, new scientific discoveries and scientific accomplishments. It is the most prestigious acknowledgment to Croatian scientists for their work. Congratulations to our scientists!
