Professor Helmut Schwarz at RBI

Ruđer Bošković Institute is proud to welcome an outstanding world scientists and one of the world's leading chemists Prof. Dr. Drs. h. c. Helmut Schwarz, the President of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and professor of organic chemistry at Berlin University of Technology (TU). Professor Schwarz will be visiting the Institute on Monday, 31 August 2009.

On this occasion, professor Schwarz will give a lecture on: Ligand and Cluster-size Effects in Metal-mediated Activation of Methane: A Cold Approach to a Hot Problem . During his visit he will also meet with the RBI Director General Danica Ramljak, D.V.M, Ph.D. and the representatives of the Croatian Humboldt Club.

The lecture by professor Schwarz is the second of the Distinguished scientists at RBI series, organized under auspice of RBI Director. This series of lectures once a month gathers RBI scientists as well as other members of the Croatian scientific community and provides them with the opportunity to meet with the leading national and world experts.
