The Night Under the Stars at the "Ruđer"

The Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) invites you to attend the night under the stars at the "Ruđer" event, which will be held on Friday, May 14 2010, starting at 6:00 pm, at the RBI, Bijenička cesta 54, Zagreb. The event is organized within the activities to mark the 60th Anniversary of the RBI.

Expanded Accreditation for the Laboratory for Radioecology

The Croatian Accreditation Agency (HAA) has completed its regular monitoring of the Laboratory for radio ecology (LRE) in the Department for Marine and Environmental Research at the Ruđer Bošković Institute. The laboratory was previously accredited in methods for determination of 90Sr, 55Fe and for the determination of gamma spectometrics based on the requirements of HR EN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2007 and now accreditation has been expanded to include methods for the determination of tritium and 89Sr.

RBI Scientists Granted EU FP7 Project SOWAEUMED

RBI Scientists from the Laboratory for the Measurement of Low-Level Radioactivity (LNA) have been granted a three-year European Commission project called SOWAEUMED (Network in Solid Waste and Water Treatment between Europe and Mediterranean Countries) under the 7th Framework Programme (FP7).

Successful breeding of Baby Stream Crawfish in Captivity

After a successful spawning of stream crawfish, RBI scientists from the Laboratory for ichtyopatology - biological materials have succeeded in breeding the first baby crawfish in ponds of the Croatian Centre for Indigenous Species of Fish and Crawfish in Karstic Waters. This is the first time ever that Croatian scientists have managed to breed stream crawfish in captivity.
