The project represents a continuation of the work of the Center of Excellence for Science and Technology – Integration of the Mediterranean Region, and integrates research, innovation and education within three fundamental areas of progress based on profiles of excellence and active scientific disciplines:

I. Advanced technologies at the nanoscale (development of highly efficient renewable energy sources, production of cutting-edge biosensors for early medical diagnostics and biomedical electronics)

II. Water and environment (protection of water quality, impacts of climate change and blue biotechnology)

III. Transfer of knowledge and technology

IV. IV. Dissemination, education, training and international mobility, with Project Management and Promotion and Visibility.
