From a Child’s Drawing to a 3D Character in Seconds: Ruđer Bošković Institute Becomes a Hub of Fun Artificial Intelligence for Kids
Zagreb, April 2026 – Can a child’s drawing come to life in just a few seconds? Can a computer be controlled using only hand movements? Answers to these and many other questions will be revealed at a unique STEM event designed to delight children—and their parents.
At the Ruđer Bošković Institute, on April 17 from 13:00 to 16:00, the event “SciHill: Open Doors to STEM (IRB): Discover Innovations” will take place as part of the project Promotion of STEM Technologies through a Multidisciplinary Approach – MULTI-STEM (SF.2.4.06.04.0092).
This is an interactive event that introduces children to the world of science and technology in a completely different way—through play, creativity, and a real “wow effect.”
Children will have the opportunity to:
turn their own drawings into realistic 3D characters using artificial intelligence
create digital models using mobile phones
control a computer using hand movements and gestures
take part in fun, interactive demonstrations that respond in real time
explore how 3D models are created from photos using photogrammetry
Unlike traditional education formats, children here don’t learn passively—they actively participate, explore, and create. This approach shows just how fun, creative, and accessible STEM can be for everyone.
Alongside the MULTI-STEM project, there will be various activities for children, and the full program is available at:

The event is primarily intended for lower primary school students, but it is also open to parents, teachers, and all interested visitors.
The goal of the MULTI-STEM project is to spark interest in science and technology from an early age and bring modern technologies closer to the wider public through innovative and interactive content.
