The final event of the Croatian Quantum Communication Infrastructure project, CroQCI, presented the results of one of Croatia’s most important national advances in the field of secure next-generation communications.

IRB scientist Dr. Suzana Szilner, Head of the Laboratory for Nuclear Physics at the Division of Experimental Physics of the Ruđer Bošković Institute, has received the Award of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts for the highest scientific achievements in 2025 in the field of mathematical, physical and chemical sciences.

At a meeting of the DONES Programme Steering Committee, held in the Japanese city of Misawa, key steps were confirmed for the further development of the international DONES Programme, one of Europe’s most important projects for the future of fusion energy.

He Ion Source & DiFU Dual-Beam Facility will enable the development of new materials for fusion power plants, as well as all other nuclear applications, such as hadron therapy.

Today, the Director-General of CERN, Fabiola Gianotti, and the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, Blaženka Divjak, signed an Agreement admitting Croatia as an Associate Member of CERN.

The project "Using synergy to achieve excellence in the research and development of detectors, sensors and electronics" is the first successfully completed structural project in Croatia, finished in a record-short period of six months, which was marked with a ceremony inaugurating the Centre for Detectors, Sensors and Electronics at RBI today.

Thanks to the RBI Zagreb was the centre of the EU fusion events this week.

Today the agreement for grants funded from the European Structural and Investment Funds was signed at the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia awarding the Ruđer Boskovic Institute (RBI) nearly 400 thousand euro for the top-level research projects in the field of physics.
