The presence of oxidative stress can be determined by simple spectrophotometric methods
- Quantitative measurement of lipid hydroperoxides (extracted from blood plasma, tissue or cells) by spectrophotometric ferric thiocyanate method;
- Determination of malondialdehyde by TBA test.
We measure antioxidative potential of unknown compounds by spectrophotometric method according to Brand-Williams.
Kinetics: The study of reaction mecanisms on milisecond and second time scale by stopped-flow technique in thermostated conditions (Rx 2000 Rapid Mixing Stoped Flow Accessory, Applied Photophysics).
