The Croatian node of the Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) is live and public
The Croatian node of the European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI), run by the IRB Laboratory for Advanced Genomics, is live and public: two Beacons and a FAIR Data Point.
As part of the GDI project, the Laboratory for Advanced Genomics has set up the Croatian node of the European Genomic Data Infrastructure. The node uses the GA4GH Beacon v2 and FAIR standards, and access is managed through the European LS-AAI login and the REMS system. Publicly available:
- Allele-frequency Beacon – a web interface for searching variants: af-beacon.gdi-croatia-node.org
- Subject-level Beacon (API): gdi-croatia-node.org/api – individual records only for logged-in users with approved access
- FAIR Data Point – the node's metadata: gdi-croatia-node.org
The node currently serves the 1+MG synthetic test dataset (COVID-19), with about 84.7 million variant records. No real data has been loaded. The next steps are joining the European Beacon Network and loading data from the Genome of Europe project.
