Nautical Design WG Workshop successfully held

First "Nautical Design Workgroup Workshop (NDW) was sucessfully held at Ruđer Bošković Institute on January 12th 2017. Workshop gathered 20 participants form 8 different SMEs (BVB, 3DF, Allstars Engineering, ITEL, iCat, as2con - Alveus, Brodarski institut i Gekom - Geophysical and ecological modeling).

In scope of the workshop, lectures were held by prof.dr.sc. Karolj Skala, prof.dr.sc. Branka Medved Rogina and dr.sc. Davor Davidović. Attendees were introduced with HPC technology and its benefits in areas of shipbuilding and nautic. In lectures it was especially emphasized that represents one of the strategic goals of development of Republic of Croatia which are defined in document "Strategije pametne specijalizacije Republike Hrvatske za razdoblje od 2016. do 2020. godine".

During first part of the discussion, conclusion has been made that there is a strong need for synergy between scientific-research institutions and present SMEs for product development and increase of market competitiveness. Importantz result of this meeting is the establishment of a workgroup for nautical design that will be the backbone for future cooperation and realization of project initiatives.
