Our group is one of the 9 research groups of Division of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at Ruđer Bošković Institute. Our research interests lie in the field of synthetic organic chemistry, with emphasis on control of chirality as the guiding principle. The scientific activity is directed, on one hand, towards stereoselective synthetic methods and the use of biocatalysts for preparation of biologically active molecules; on the second hand it involves development of novel industrially relevant materials, such as liquid crystals and chiral stationary phases. During research we often collaborate with other laboratories in- and outside the Institute, and with pharmaceutical industry.

The CATBIO has an active and friendly research environment. Full time equivalent research students are undertaking graduate program at the doctoral level. In addition we offer undergraduate students a first-hand opportunity to engage in our research project in their final year.
