The first PhD-Day organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing took place on March 3^rd 2016. At this occasion, five awarded Phd theses were orally presented and 29 PhD theses proposals were presented in a poster session.

Centre for Informatics and Computing was granted a new project named “High-performance tensor contractions on hybrid computing architectures” under the joint Croatian-German research cooperation for the period 2016-2017. 

The round table DARIAH in Croatia - Croatia in DARIAH, organized by the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research (IEF) , was held in Zagreb on January 28th 2016 in the Croatian Institute of History.  

The newly founded European networkSESAME Net -Supercomputing Expertise for Small And Medium Enterprises-and the corresponding project of the same name have been kicked off. SESAME Net boosts the usage of high performance computing-technology by small and medium-sized enterprises.
