Doktorirao sam biološku oceanografiju na zajedničkom programu MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) i WHOI (Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute) u SAD. Prije toga stekao sam diplomu diplomiranog inžinjera fizike na PMF (Prirodoslovno-Matematičkom Fakultetu) Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.
