Misija

Misija Laboratorija za molekularnu virologiju i bakteriologiju je proširivanje znanja i razumijevanja prirode tumora čovjeka povezanih sa infektivnim agensima u svrhu poboljšanja i razvijanja novih pristupa u dijagnostici, liječenju i prevenciji tih bolesti.

Djelatnost

• Bazična istraživanja molekularne patogeneze humanih papiloma virusa (HPV)
• Epidemiološka istraživanja HPV-a u raznim sijelima 
• Istraživanja epigenetike HPV-povezanih bolesti
• Istraživanja uloge onkogena E6 i E7 HPV-a u razvoju HPV-povezanih bolesti
• Laboratorij je zavodska jedinica za molekularnu analizu virusnih i bakterijskih infekcija u čovjeka
• Laboratorij je zavodska jedinica za izolaciju nukleinskih kiselina pomoću automatskog sustava EZ1
• Laboratorij održava hrvatsku banku DNA i RNA stanica prekanceroza i karcinoma povezanih s HPV-om
• Laboratorij održava stanične i bakterijske kulture za uzgoj ili/i ekspresiju gena HPV-a
